Terms of Service

Acceptance

1. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and all guidelines and policies incorporated by reference.
2. Guidelines and notices posted within the Service form part of these Terms. In case of conflict, these Terms prevail.
3. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

Account

1. You may register for an account by agreeing to these Terms and completing the registration process.
2. We may decline registration if registration information is false, inaccurate, or incomplete; you previously had your account suspended or terminated for breach of these Terms; you are affiliated with organized crime or anti-social forces; or we otherwise determine registration is inappropriate.
3. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. You must promptly update your account information if it changes.

Services

CareerBank AI provides AI-powered career support tools for job-changers, including:

1. Experience Bank: Structured storage of work achievements in STAR format.
2. AI Resume Generation: Tailored resumes and self-PR statements generated from your stored experiences.
3. AI Mock Interviews: Practice interviews with Standard, Friendly, Strict, and Logical styles.
4. Consistency Check: Detection of contradictions across experiences, resumes, and interview answers.
5. Scout Reply Generator: AI-drafted replies to recruiter scout messages.
6. Salary Negotiation Simulator: Practice negotiating compensation based on your target offer and achievements.

We may add, modify, or remove features at any time with advance notice where reasonably practicable.

User Conduct

You agree not to:

1. Violate any applicable law or regulation, or act contrary to public order and morality.
2. Engage in or facilitate criminal activity.
3. Infringe any copyright, patent, trademark, portrait right, privacy right, or other proprietary right of ours, other users, or third parties.
4. Submit false or misleading information.
5. Transfer, lend, or sell your account to any third party.
6. Attempt unauthorized access, hacking, or vulnerability scanning.
7. Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service to obtain source code.
8. Use scraping or automated tools to place excessive load on the Service’s infrastructure.
9. Use AI-generated resumes, interview answers, or other output for purposes other than your own personal job search, including resale, commercial distribution, or acting as a proxy for others.
10. Provide benefits to organized crime or anti-social forces.
11. Engage in any other conduct we determine to be inappropriate.

Fees

1. The Service offers a free plan and multiple paid subscription plans. Plan details, features, and pricing are displayed within the Service.
2. Paid plans are billed on a monthly recurring basis and automatically renew unless you cancel before the next renewal date.
3. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We accept major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and JCB.
4. Cancellation: You may cancel at any time via Settings > Plan & Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; access continues until then. No pro-rata refunds are issued.
5. Refund policy: Because the Service provides digital content, refunds are generally not issued after service delivery begins. Exceptions apply if a technical error on our side causes duplicate charges; contact support@careerbankai.com.
6. We may change pricing with advance notice posted within the Service.
7. Late payments accrue interest at an annual rate of 14.6%.

IP

1. All intellectual property rights in the Service’s system, design, trademarks, and other materials belong to us or our licensors.
2. Copyright in content you input, including Experience Bank entries and attachments, remains with you. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to use that content solely to provide and improve the Service.
3. AI-generated output, including resumes, feedback, and suggestions, is based on your inputs and may be freely used by you. You acknowledge that AI-generated content may not attract copyright protection to the extent it reflects purely automated creation.
4. We may use anonymized, aggregated information derived from Service usage for product improvement and research purposes.

Termination

1. We may suspend or terminate your account without prior notice if you breach these Terms, provide false registration information, become insolvent or file for bankruptcy, are found to be affiliated with organized crime or anti-social forces, or otherwise engage in conduct we determine makes continued service provision inappropriate.
2. If your account is terminated under this section, any outstanding amounts owed to us become immediately due and payable.
3. You may terminate your account at any time via Settings. Data handling after termination is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

1. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your specific requirements, function without interruption, or produce accurate results.
2. AI-generated resumes, interview feedback, salary negotiation scripts, and other output are provided for reference only. We make no guarantee as to their accuracy or effectiveness in actual job applications.
3. We are not liable for damages caused by system downtime, failures, or data loss, except where caused by our willful misconduct or gross negligence.
4. You are responsible for resolving any dispute arising between you and a third party in connection with your use of the Service.

Limitation of Liability

1. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the total fees you paid us during the 12 months preceding the incident giving rise to the claim.
2. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or data loss, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

Governing Law

1. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
2. The Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Service.

Dispute Resolution

We encourage you to contact us first at support@careerbankai.com to resolve any dispute informally. If informal resolution is not possible within 30 days, disputes shall be resolved by the Tokyo District Court as set out above.

Changes to These Terms

1. We may update these Terms when reasonably necessary or when doing so serves users’ general interests.
2. Material changes will be communicated via in-service notification or email before the effective date.
3. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
